March 27 update: Stage 5 looks like a ceremonial stage. Ie. Levi should have this race locked up and there should be a (uphill) sprint finish today. Both Levi and Dave Z were on the podium together last month at the Tour of California as well. By the way, there have only been three withdrawals all week with Lance Armstrong being one of them.

Overlapping the Vuelta a Castilla y León this week is Coppi e Bartali running March 24-28th in Northern Italy.
March 17 update: Vuelta a Castilla y León (Tour of Castile and Leon) is a midweek cycling stage race held in the Castilla y León region of Northern Spain. If you haven't already heard, Astana will be sending five riders from their A-squad (Lance Armstrong, Alberto Contador, Levi Leipheimer, Chechu Rubiera, Haimar Zubeldia) to this second-tier (2.1HC) stage race so the event is generating more interest than usual. There will be two Americian based teams, Garmin and Rock Racing, at this event as well. The five day race runs March 23-27th and features a variety of stages including an individual time-trial and two mountain/uphill finishes. See the race summary table for all the stage maps, profiles and timetables.

Check back for official team rosters, tv schedules and live streaming video as the race draws closer. During the event links to results, photos and video will be posted. — Steve
