July 16 post: We are one day away from the first mountain stage in the Pyrénées so it's up to the sprinter teams to bring back a break on this rolling stage.

Starting from Rodez, the peloton will take a lumpy/rolling route to Revel some 196 km to the south. Revel is just east of Toulouse and has hosted a finish eight times since first visited 1966. There are five categorized climbs along the way but none of them are difficult. They will, however, be enough to generate a break and in the past breaks have succeeded in Revel. The cat 3 climb just 6 km from the finish will be pivotal. Expect the main break to split on this climb. — Steve
