June 14 update: Stage 3 moves into the old Romandie (French) part of Switzerland. From yesterday's finish and today's start in Sierre, the peloton will continue through the valley following it west and then north. At Aigle, home to the UCI headquarters, the race will head east, up and over the cat 1 Col des Mosses which gains about 1000m in 15km.

Like yesterday, the big climb is in the first half of the race so it will not be a big factor. After a long descent down to Chateau d'Oex, there is about 60 km of lumpy cycling with a category 3 climb positioned 25 km from the finish in Schwarzenburg. There will be a stiff 1 km climb with an average grade of 11% just 1 km from the line. The last km is pretty much flat. — Steve
