En este tercer día del Tour, tendremos el primer paso con puntaje para la clasificación de montaña.

Con largada en Brusela, la carrera continúa hacia sudeste, donde la ruta comienza progresivamente a subir, dirigiéndose hacia el mismo recorrido usado en las clásicas de las Ardenas: Flecha Valona (Fleche Wallonne) y Lieja-Bastogna-Lieja (Liège-Bastogne-Liège).

En total hay 6 puertos de categoría 4y 3, incluidos en la segunda mitad de la etapa. No son ascenciones de mucha dificultad, aunque será interesante observar cnatos sprinter se mantienen al llegar al final en Spa.
