July 25 update: This year's race gets started with a bang. Stage 1 is the first of two mountain stages in Northern Italy ending with summit finishes. For stage 1 we finish at Madonna di Campiglio 11.5 km long with a modest incline of 5.4% by Italian standards where the Stage 20 of 1999 Giro d'Italia finished and where the 2011 Giro del Trentino wrapped up. — Steve
